The Isle of Wight is a beautiful, peaceful retreat, nestled just off England’s south coast. The Island is surprisingly easy to reach and only a couple of hours from London, with regular ferries running from Southampton (Red Funnel), Portsmouth and Lymington (both supported by Wightlink).

Yaverland Beach is less than 100m from Fort Spinney Bungalows and is one of the Isle of Wight’s best beaches, providing a long stretch of sand and great swimming waters for children and families.

Along the beach you can see the red sandstone through to the white chalk of Culver cliff and it is around here that fossil remains can be found – this is a one of the Isle of Wight’s Dinosaur beaches! There are several coastal cliff walks too!

Yaverland is popular with water-sports (catamaran and dingy sailing, kite surfing, windsurfing, surfing) and a vast stretch of safe bathing areas. You can walk the length of Sandown Bay from Yaverland along the seaside revetment to Shanklin our neighbouring town.
